తలుపులమ్మ లోవ తూర్పు గోదావరి జిల్లా, తుని మండలానికి చెందిన గ్రామం. తునికి సమీపంలో ఉన్న లోవకొత్తూరు దగ్గర ఉంది. ఇది పర్యాటక ప్రాంతం. వృక్షశాస్త్రం చదివే విద్యార్థులు తరచూ ఇక్కడకి విహారయాత్రకి వస్తుంటారు. పూర్వం కాలినడకన వెళ్ళేవారు. ఇప్పుడు బస్సులు ఉన్నాయి.

ప్రతీ సంవత్సరము, చైత్ర బహుళ విదియ నుండి చైత్ర బహుళ అమావాస్య వరకు లోని కొత్తూరు గ్రామంలో శ్రీ తలుపులమ్మ అమ్మవారి వార్షిక జాతర మహోత్సవములు నిర్వహించబడుచున్నవి. అదే విధముగా ప్రతీ సంవత్సరము ఆషాఢ శుద్ధ పాడ్యమి నుండి ఆషాఢ బహుళ అమావాస్య వరకు ఆషాడ మాస ఉత్సవములు వైభవముగా నిర్వహించబడుచున్నవి.

ఉదయం 06:00 నుంచి సాయంత్రము 06:00 వరకు ఉంచి ఉందును. ఈ దేవాలయము దట్టమైన అడవిలో ఉండడం వల్ల ఆలయమును సాయంత్రము 06:00 గంటలకి మూస్తారు.

పురాణ గాథ

కృతయుగంలో ఈ ప్రాంతానికి చేరుకున్న అగస్త్య మహర్షి, సంధ్యావందనం చేసుకోవాలనుకోగా ఎక్కడా నీటిజాడ కనిపించలేదు. దాంతో ఆయన జగన్మాతను ప్రార్థించగా, కొండపైన పాతాళగంగ పొంగింది. సంధ్యా వందనం పూర్తి చేసుకున్న అగస్త్యుడు, ఈ ప్రాంతంలోనే కొలువై ఉండమని అమ్మవారిని కోరడంతో, ఆయన అభ్యర్ధనమేరకు అమ్మవారు ఇక్కడి కొండగుహలో కొలువుదీరింది.కాలక్రమంలో అమ్మవారు భక్తుల కోరికలను నెరవేరుస్తూ తలుపులమ్మగా పూజాభిషేకాలు అందుకుంటోంది. ఇక్కడి అమ్మవారు సకల శుభాలను ప్రసాదిస్తుందని భక్తులు విశ్వసిస్తుంటారు. పచ్చని ప్రకృతి ఒడిలో ఆహ్లాదకరమైన వాతావరణంలో కొలువైన ఇక్కడి అమ్మవారిని దర్శించడం ఒక అనిర్వచనీయమైన అనుభూతిని కలిగిస్తుంది. వెలమకొత్తూరు గ్రామం దగ్గరలో ఉంటుంది.

Sri Talupulamma Ammavari temple is located at Lova village in Tuni Mandal of East Godavari dist. It is located on a Hillock between Darakonda and Teegakonda. It quite unsafe for the pilgrims. It is also believed that the Goddess Sri Talupulamma Ammavaru frequents this hillock at night. Though the pilgrims rush is moderate here, one can find quite a rush on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Wedged between 2 heavily forested hillocks, stands the Talupulamma Ammavari Temple, Lova offering a breathtaking view of the valley below which is just a sample of the natural beauty of East Godavari, often claimed as "The God's Own District".

Located not far from the famous Annavaram temple, is the abode of Talupulamma Ammavaru. It is a fascinating and irresistible destination for both lovers of nature and adventure as well as pilgrims.

Truck owners as well as car owners, particularly those who live in the Godavari and North Coastal Districts share a special bond with this Temple as they believe strongly that Goddess Talupulamma Ammavaru will protect them from accidents, dangers and will also help in earning profits. The devotees stay at the foot of the hillock Temple and perform pooja to their vehicle. Most of the people, who buy new vehicle, make sure to visit this temple and get their vehicles blessed by the Goddess

Main Festivals being celebrated:

The main festivals of this Devasthanam is annual Jatara and Ashadha Masa Utsavams. The annual Jatara festival is being celebrated from every Chaitra Bahula Vidiya to Chaitra Bahula Amavasya at Lova Kothuru village. Ashadha Masa Utsavams are also being celebrated from Ashadha Sudha Padhyami to Ashadha Bahula Amavasya every year.

It is the brief history of Paadagaya Kshetram which is one of the important Astadasa Peeth a's, situated at Pithapuram in East Godavari District in andhra Pradesh. It is described in th e third chapter of Bheema Khanda and of Shandapurana.

Bhima Mandalam consists of Andhra, Orissa border at the foot of the Vindhya Mountains. I t is the best piece of land out of nine divisions of land with all kinds of crops and gardens. Pithapuram has become famous as a sacred and holy piligrimage, in this land. Pithapuram is Equally holy and sacred place with 'Kedaram' in North-India and 'Kumbhakonam' in Sout h-India. This place was visited by the Sage Vyasa with his disciples and it was written in 8 himakhanda of Skandapurana, one of the eighteen epics.

The great poet, 'Srinadha' wrote in the third chapter of 'Bheemeswara purana' inthe followi ng way. "The following four places give salvation or Moksha, they are(banaras), Varanasi, Kedaram, Kumbhakonam and Pithapuram(kukkuteswara stanamu) Pithapuram has becom e Paadagaya Keshetram. In olden days, KRUTAYUGA there was a demon king, Gayasura, B y his austere penance and sacrifice he got kingship on heaven and ruled the three lokas (S warga, Marthya, Patalam). He was ruling three lokas by the result of sacrifices made by sa ges. Defeated by Gayasura Lord Indra and others deltles approached Trimurthies (Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara) for Restoration of their position. Trimuthies in the guise of brahmi ns visited Gayasura.
