పెంచలకోన ఆలయం దక్షిణ భారతదేశంలో ప్రసిద్ధి చెందిన వైష్ణవ క్షేత్రాలలో ఒకటి. ఇక్కడ నరసింహ స్వామి ఆలయం కలదు. ఇక్కడ వెలసిన నరసింహ స్వామిని పెంచల స్వామి గా ఆరాధిస్తుంటారు భక్తులు. ఆలయ సందర్శన : ఉదయం 6 గంటల నుండి రాత్రి 8 గంటల వరకు.

పెంచలకోన శ్రీ పెనుశిల లక్ష్మి నరసింహ స్వామి ఆలయ దివ్య క్షేత్రం గురించి కొన్ని. మాటల్లో ... శ్రీహరి నరసింహుడిగా మారి హిరణ్యకస్యపుడిని సంహరించి ఉ నరసింహుడు అయ్యాడు. ఆ మహాగ్ర రూపంలో వెళ్తుంటే దేవతలు, ప్రజలు భయభ్రాంతులు గురయ్యారు.అలా శేషాచలం అడవుల్లో సంచరిస్తుంటే చెంచురాజు కుమార్తె చెంచులక్ష్మి కనిపించింది. అప్పుడు ఆ ముగ్ధమొహన సౌందర్యం ఆయనని శాంతపరిచింది. స్వామి పెళ్ళిచేసుకోవాలని చెంచురాజుకి కప్పం చెల్లించి ఆమెను పరిణయమాడాడు. ఆమెను పెనవేసుకొని ఈ అటవీ ప్రాంతంలో విలగా స్థిరపడ్డాడు. ఆ శిల వెలసిన

About Temple

Penusila Narasimha Swamy is a manifestation of Lord Vishnu in his man-lion form, Lord Narasimha. The deity is supposed to have appeared here as a huge of rock in the Yoga Mudra (contemplative posture). This village is located in Rapur mandal of Nellore city district in Andhra Pradesh. It is 70 km from Nellore city. Penchalakona houses the temple of Sri Penusila Narasimha Swamy, which is situated at the foot of a hill. It is believed that Kanva Maharshi did his penance here.

The annual festival of the temple, during the month of April and May, is a major event at Penchalakona. Devotees from near and far distances congregate for Narasimhaswamy Jayanthi with great devotion.

The river Kandaleru as it is now called, originates from the water falls of the mountain ranges on the West and the South, had another name Kanvayeru. The river flows through Rapur and empties itself in to the Bay of Bengal sea near Krishnapatnam. Krishnapatnam Port is located on Kandaleru creek.

Brahmotsavam:

In Vaisaka (April or May) the main festival of Penusila Lakshmi Narasimaha Swamy, the Brahmostava, is celebrated over five days. This coincides with the birthday of Narasinha Swamy called Narasimha Jayanthi, and devotees throng the temple. The temple authorities, through the Devesthanam choultries (rest houses), provide board and lodging facilities for the pilgrims. The Chenchu tribes are given chief importance in this festival. The first Nivedyam (food offered to the deity) is given by Chenchu tribes. They offer fruits and honey natural products from the forests to their son-in-law, Lord Narasimha.

On Saturdays, Penusila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a popular place for pilgrims.

పెంచలకోన ఎలా చేరుకోవాలి ?

పెంచలకోన చేరుకోవటానికి రోడ్డు వ్యవస్థ ప్రధాన రవాణా మార్గం గా ఉన్నది. వాయు, రైలు మార్గాల సౌకర్యం కూడా ఈ క్షేత్రానికి ఉన్నాయి.

వాయు మార్గం

పెంచలకోన కు సుమారు 100 కి. మీ. దూరంలో ఉన్న తిరుపతి రేణిగుంట విమానాశ్రయం సమీప విమానాశ్రయం. ఇక్కడి నుండి క్యాబ్ లేదా ట్యాక్సీ లను అద్దెకు తీసుకొని రోడ్డు మార్గం ద్వారా పెంచలకోన సులభంగా చేరుకోవచ్చు. ప్రయాణ సమయం 2 గంటలు.

రైలు మార్గం

పెంచలకోన కు సమీపాన ఉన్న రైల్వే స్టేషన్ రాజంపేట రైల్వే స్టేషన్. ఇది 31 కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో ఉన్నది. సమీపాన ఉన్న మరొక ప్రధాన రైల్వే స్టేషన్ గూడూరు రైల్వే జంక్షన్. ఇది 70 కి.మీ. దూరంలో ఉన్నది. రైల్వే స్టేషన్ లో దిగి ప్రవేట్ ట్యాక్సీ లు లేదా ప్రభుత్వ వాహనాల్లో ప్రయాణించి పెంచలకోన వెళ్ళవచ్చు.

రోడ్డు మార్గం

పెంచలకోన కు ప్రధాన రవాణా మార్గం రోడ్డు వ్యవస్థే. కడప (138 కి.మీ) , నెల్లూరు (80 కి.మీ), వెంకటగిరి (60 కి.మీ), గూడూరు(70 కి.మీ), రాజంపేట ( 34 కి.మీ) ప్రాంతాల నుండి పెంచలకోన కు ఆర్టీసీ బస్సులు తిరుగుతుంటాయి. నెల్లూరు నుండి ప్రతి గంటలకు ఒక బస్సు పెంచలకోన బయలుదేరుతుంది. బ్రహ్మోత్సవాల సమయంలో నెల్లూరు, రాజంపేట, గూడూరు నుండి ప్రత్యేక బస్సులు నడుస్తుంటాయి.

ఆంధ్రా నుండి వచ్చేవారు ?

విజయవాడ, వైజాగ్, ఏలూరు, రాజమండ్రి ప్రాంతాల నుండి వచ్చే వారు నెల్లూరు వరకు రైల్లో ప్రయాణించవచ్చు. ఆ తరువాత నెల్లూరు బస్ స్టాండ్ చేరుకొని పెంచలకోన చేర వచ్చు. నెల్లూరు (75 కి.మీ) నుండి పెంచలకోన కు ప్రతి గంట కు ఒక బస్సు బయలుదేరుతుంది. ఉదయం నుండి రాత్రి 9 గంటల వరకు బస్సులు తిరుగుతూనే ఉంటాయి.

తిరుపతి. తమిళనాడు నుండి వచ్చే వారు

తిరుపతి (115 కి.మీ) చుట్టుప్రక్కల ప్రాంతాల వారైతే వెంకటగిరి - రాపూరు మీదుగా పెంచలకోన చేరుకోవచ్చు. చెన్నై, చుట్టుప్రక్కల పట్టణాల నుండి వచ్చేవారైతే నెల్లూరు లోని గూడూరు రైల్వే జంక్షన్ వద్ద దిగి, అక్కడి నుండి రాపూరు మీదుగా బస్సులో చేరుకోవచ్చు. గూడూరు నుండి పెంచల కోన 65 కి. మీ. దూరంలో ఉన్నది.

కర్నూలు, కడప, అనంతపురం నుండి వచ్చేవారు

కర్నూలు, కడప, అనంతపురం చుట్టుప్రక్కల ప్రాంతాల నుండి వచ్చేవారు రాజంపేట వరకు బస్సులో లేదా రైల్లో ప్రయాణించవచ్చు. ఆ తర్వాత రాజంపేట నుండి రాపూరు కు రోడ్డు మార్గం ద్వారా చేరుకోవాలి. రాపూరు (30 కి. మీ) నుండి ప్రతి అరగంట కు ఒక బస్సు పెంచలకోన బయలుదేరుతుంది.

By Road:

There is a bus facility from Rapuru to Penchalalkona every half an hour, which is a distance around 30 KM, from Nellore to Penchalakona every hour which is a distance of 75 KM. People coming from Tirupati and surroundings can reach here via Venkatagiri and Rapuru, which is at a distance of 115 Kilometers from Tirupati.

By Train:

People from Tamil Nadu clannal and other southern parts can come till Guduru on train which is at a distance of 65 Kilometers from temple. People coming from Vvijayawada and Vizag should take the train route till Nellore. From Nellore, for every hour will be a bus to Penchalakona, which is a distance around 75 Kilometers.there.

By Air:

The nearest airport is Tirupathi International Airport and the distance between airport and Nellore is 125.4 Kilometers. From Nellore, for every hour there will be a bus to Penchalakona, which is at a distance of 75 Kilometers

Places To Visit

Kandaleru Water fall

The water fall coming from the hill where the Lord lies, flows down in the northward direction. In ancient d ays a devotee, Maharishi (Saint) by name 'Kanva' dwelling was on the banks of this river and used this for his basic needs. So, this lake is named after him as 'Kanvayeru.

As ages passed, the name was changed to 'Kandaleru. A dam was constructed downstream of this lake in 1995. Its name is known by its river as Kandaleru Dam. The dam supplies irrigation water to many surroun ding villages and provides livelihood to many natives.

Somasila Dam

There is Somasila Anicut Pennar between Velikonda Hills. There is famous Sivalayam here. Somes wara Temple and Dam, Somasila located around 80kms from Nellore town.

The temple is very famous and ancient one built during the times of Sri Krishna Devaraya (around 400 Vrs old). Somasila Dam is the biggest in Nellore Dist built across river Penna providing Water for agriculture an d drinking purposes to the District. This place is one of the best picnic spots in Nellore Dist with a beautiful reservoir, hydraulic power generators and an ancient temple.
